Hello All!! Welcome!
I’m so excited to see you stopping by Mommin’ 365! Hopefully, you can look around this little blog and find a place to relate to, to laugh at, to unite with other mammas out there going through all the same stuff you are.
First, let me tell you a little more about myself. My husband, Adam, and I have been married for 6 years now. It still amazes me some that he puts up with me daily! I met him while trying to recover from a pretty low point in my life and I give him all the credit of bringing me to where I am now. We have two amazing little girls. Natalie is 4 1/2 and Kendall is almost 3. They are the reason I get up everyday, and the reason I pull out my own hair, but I couldn’t love them anymore if I tried.
Before I was even pregnant with our first daughter, I knew I wanted to stay home with her. Financially, however, I needed to be able to make it work. For that reason, I have been providing in home daycare for the last 5 years. Basically I am a stay at home mom but to more kids than just my own.
When I became a mom I gave up most all my “me time”.
I was totally fine with that in the beginning. I’m pretty sure I was just too exhausted to notice. Recently though, I have been trying harder to find moments for myself. I love to read, take pictures, spend endless hours on Pinterest, d.i.y projects, and watching General Hospital during nap time. I would love to say I drink wine on my front porch after the girls are in bed, but honestly I only love the idea of wine. I’ve never found one I love. On the other hand, I struggle to find an ice cream I don’t love, or cheesecake, or cookies……. I really need to send my metabolism a Thank You card! Especially since I also love the idea of working out but don’t actually do that either. Currently, we are hard at work to set (and stick to) a budget to pay off our debt. Our big 5 year plan includes building a new home! I love planning and organizing. Someday, when I have some free time, I want to learn to sew and play the guitar. We’ll chat about these things and all that makes up this crazy, messy mom life!
With this blog, I’d love to share some of my daily life with you.
If we want to be better moms we have to stop competing with each other and start supporting each other. None of us know what the hell we are doing so why pretend! I’ll share any little “mom hacks” I find along the way if you promise to do the same! To me, Mom life is about so much more than our kids. We can’t take care of them if we don’t take care of ourselves (I’m a work in progress with this). I’ve spent many days feeling lost in the daily struggles and losing sight of whats important. I know I’m not alone in this feeling but many days I feel like I am. That is no longer the case though, because now I have all of you!
Hopefully, somewhere in this messy mom life, you can find a place to not just exist but live and live happy! Know that you aren’t alone in any of it and that we are all friends here.
