FabFitFun subscription box newbie.
I recently received my very first box from FabFitFun. After wanting to join for a while, and finding a great discount code on Instagram, I finally did it. My shipment was the Editor’s Box. This box is supposed to be filled with the best of the best, all the favorites from the editors and members, and I was not disappointed!
So what is in the box?
I’ll give my short review of each item I received. They were all full size, nice quality products. This was important to me because I’ve seen many reviews of other subscription boxes where you get mostly sample size products with coupons for the full size. Of course, I would have enjoyed some coupons thrown in the box too, but I was happy to see all full size products.
I had a choice on a few items in the box. The first choice was a scarf or a poncho. I didn’t have a poncho so I chose that item. It was from BB Dakota and valued at $70. Personally, I wouldn’t pay that much for a Poncho, but that’s mostly because I spend all my money on clothes for my kids. (Seriously, their closets are ridiculous). This poncho, however, really is worth the money. It is so super soft and snuggly. It’s the perfect weight too. I was worried it would be bulky and awkward, but it is just right. It hangs nicely and doesn’t get in the way or constantly fall off. It would be perfect for those in between season days, when it’s not really warm yet, but you want to lose the big sweaters and coats.
My next choices were both from Summer & Rose, between a pair of earrings or a necklace. Both items were super cute, but being a daycare provided doesn’t give me many opportunities to wear long dangle earrings, so I went with the necklace. It is a double bar style in silver. The two strands gives the illusion of stacking necklaces, but it’s actually one piece. It really is a simple look that can easily become a staple in your collection. The value is $40.
My final choice was between a gym bag and a revitalizing therapy gel. Now, full disclosure, I don’t work out. I have been to the gym a total of two times in the last year. Actually, I have been to the gym a total of two times in my life. I almost went with the gym bag, but I couldn’t come up with a good reason to have yet another bag sitting around, so I went with the gel valued at $65. My husband does work out from time to time so I thought he could use it. Honestly, neither one of us has used this product yet, so I can’t give an honest review on it, but it is supposed to soothe sore, tired muscles with African botanical. The anti-inflammatory properties deliver an invigorating and energizing sensation to aches and pains. Sounds pretty amazing, but without using it I can’t confirm that. I can tell you that it smells much better than icy hot!
The next item in the box was an eyeshadow palette. Again, my day job doesn’t require makeup so I don’t wear a lot of eye shadow. This $28 palette is really nice though. Once I clean out my make up drawer it will replace several single eyeshadows that are probably way past their prime anyway. The colors are perfect for anything from daily wear to a special occasion. I did wear some one day and it is a really nice creamy feel that was long lasting. This won’t be a daily use for me, but it is a really nice pick.
This next item is probably my favorite. Spongelle makes as awesome $16 body buffer! You can exfoliate and cleanse all at the same time. Add in the amazing smell and it’s a win-win. It really does leave my skin feeling soft and the Bulgarian Rose scent lingers for a while too. I have been using this everyday in the shower for well over 2 weeks now, and the scent is still going strong.
The Makeup Applicator is a close second on my favorite list. I don’t know why I have never bought one before, but it’s amazing. The applicator is silicone so you simple wash it off when you’re done applying your make up, and it looks brand new again without absorbing (and wasting) any of your expensive makeup. Say good-bye to your dirty brushes or sponges. No more trying to remember when you last cleaned them because they look dirty and gross after just a couple uses. This is definitely worth $20!
When you want to pamper your skin a bit, try this mask. The dew mask is full of natural ingredients like rose hip fruits extract and cupuacu butter all set to moisture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and inflammation. All much-needed during the cold and dry winter months. Now, it doesn’t give a suggested time length to leave it on which is probably good because I forgot I had it on and it was well over 30 minutes before I washed it off. It did leave my skin feeling soft, and I loved how it didn’t feel tight on my face. Some masks I have tried feel like they are trying to rip my skin off or something. This mask felt more like lotion on my face than a mask. It is valued at $54.
The final product in my box was a $35 bath salt. Honestly, I was most excited about this one when I opened everything. It claims to invigorate your senses as your anxiety and stress float away. Now this is something I need in my life! This salt has a really familiar smell, but I can’t describe it. I think it just reminds me of something, but I can’t place it. However, given all the kids, stress and life that happens around here, I have yet to have a chance to take a soak in the tub and use this. So although I can’t support any of the claims yet. I really hope to use it soon. My body could use a good soak and relax so hopefully I can take advantage of it soon. I will let you know on Facebook when I get to enjoy this goodie and just how relaxing it is (hopefully).
I was really pleased with all the products I received in my Editor’s box, and will defiantly continue my subscription to FabFitFun. Total value of the box was $328, so I was pretty happy with my $29 investment. (Normal quarterly boxes are $49.99)
It was one of my goals this year to find some more “me time”. This box is full of items I wouldn’t normally go out and buy for myself, but are all things that I enjoyed getting and have been using (for the most part).
My FabFitFun Spring box should be shipping soon, and I can’t wait to share what I get with all of you! Let me know if you love any of these products too.
